S’mores Boards Through the Seasons

Since we bought our first home, over five years ago, I’ve fallen more and more in love with s’mores… to the point I’d say- I’m obsessed! Not only because of their perfect-iconic taste, but also because some of my favorite memories with family and friends have been made around our fire pit…with a s’mores in hand. Making s'mores is an activity that slows down time and lengthens conversation. Insert the S'mores Board- I love them because they are simple, inexpensive, and don’t require anything perishable (so you can always throw one together last minute). But most of all, s’more boards allow everyone to get creative and make their own perfect desert.

Here are 5 Tips to building a festive, eye-catching, delicious S’mores board for any occasion:

  1. Start with a river, or “S” shape, of graham crackers through the center of your board and around a bowl of marshmallows (or a skillet if you won’t be using a firepit).

2. Outline that “river” of graham crackers with a pop of color or contrast, such as fresh fruit or yogurt pretzels.

3. Get creative when shopping for chocolate. I absolutely love Reese’s thins or mini Oreos on my s’mores! Unwrap your chocolate OR leave the wrapper on if it ties in with the board theme - like red Kit Kats and blue Crunch bars for the 4th of July or orange Reeses in the fall.

4. Incorporate seasonal classics like peeps in the spring, candy corn in the fall, or candy canes in the winter.

5. Add gummy candy to make it a true dessert board and a crowdpleaser for everyone. I’ve actually fallen in love with “sour s’mores”. Substitute the chocolate for sour candy!
