January Recap
One month of 2022 down and eleven more to go! Time is flying by… maybe because I’m pregnant, so excited about Chiefs Football and Jayhawk Basketball, or maybe because it just does “the older you get”.
I’ve actually kept to my resolutions:
I read two books- The Lazy Genius Way and Ruthless Elimination of Hurry. I still move around everywhere with purpose but LOVED both.
Have drank one of these a day - yes way! It is a goal of mine to stay hydrated more, so I’m also using Liquid IV. I have a code: GRAZINGKC for 25% your online purchase. Watermelon and Golden Cherry are my current fave.
I converted to using delivery for everything except one Trader Joes run a month. It has saved me so much time I can invest elsewhere, has helped me plan means more efficiently, and prob saved me many impulse purchase$. I use Instacart for groceries (even Costco) and Amazon and Target delivery for everything else. I’m hooked because when I think of something, I add it straight to one of my online carts.
Invested in organizing bins! I otherwise would have thought, “I’d rather spend my money on a door dash meal or a latte than this expensive clear container”. But efficiency brings SO much peace and everything has a place. I have three of these- one for Chloe’s snacks, one for markers/art, and another for under the bathroom vanity. And a tea organizer that has eliminated at least 10 boxes from our pantry.
I wrote a blog… not just about cheeseboards (THIS YAY). Writing feels vulnerable. I also feel like “who would want to read this?”. BUT it makes me feel like me. I loved to journal my entire life (and still do). You could say I’m nostalgic and love to look back on things too.
Also, I’ve been intentional in planning dates with friends and Jordan. Getting out as a mama is harder than I thought. Like I literally sit down at the first of the month and text friends about open dates on my calendar and physically open my planner to plan dates with Jordan. I’m such a planner. If I wait until the week of- I realize my friends are booked and then I’m bummed… or really I don’t make spontaneous plans because It’s easier to stay home and get any my PJ’s at 6pm LOL.
And haven’t kept to other resolutions: Moving my body for 10 intentional mins a day. I obviously move for 10 mins a day (laugh) but not for 10 straight minutes with purpose and a raised heart rate. The cold weather has dragged me down (my excuse). And haven’t plugged in my phone on the charger at 9pm. Nope haven’t succeeded at those but maybe Feb?
My “ROSES” About January: (Rose = highlights, Thorn = challenge)
Taking Chloe to Allen Fieldhouse for the first time! ROCK CHALK!
Finding out we are having another baby girl!
A new cozy lounge set- which has contributed to the reason I am reading more
Signing Chloe up for Dance and Gymnastics (also got her a bar for home- when it’s 15 degrees and we don’t get outside)
A SNOW DAY!
RED Friday Celebrations for Chiefs Football. We love a red velvet latte, donut, and trip to Union Station.
Making a 9ft grazing table for the Chiefs Playoff Games in the suites.
A date night at Prime Social
My one “THORN” about January: We accidentally left our garage open and it got broken into! Omgosh!
Happy January. Here’s to February and a month of LOVE and sweetness!
